I think ex wife has a grudge against Superman. In the comics Bruce actually almost killed Joker when Joker killed Jason, but Clark stopped him. If I remember correctly it was because joker was a diplomat and bc it would go against the moral code.
Imagine ex wife finding that out and hating the man? Because how dare you save that disease’s life? How dare you save it over her son? Especially since in this au, Lois died giving birth to Jon, and ex wife stepped up to help Clark with Jon while Clark grieved.
But imagine Clark letting ex wife be volatile to him? Letting the woman he’s secretly loved and adored for years scream at him with tears rolling down her cheeks as she tries her best to hurt him.
Slamming her fist against his chest as he hugs her, clawing at his skin and hair, ordering him to let go of her, that she will never forgive him for not saving her son. He takes it all, just for her. He can take her pain and swallow it.
However, after a while I think ex wife could forgive him, only if he had a valid reason.
But imagine them together? I feel like Clark would be a reverent yandere, especially with the information that ex wife helped him raise Jon.
I was talking about this with someone last night about how Clark views ex wife, and in his eyes, she is like an angel sent by god to save him from the dark pit he was in. Without ex wife he would’ve became injustice Superman.
Clark would adore ex wife, like truly adore her. His angel, his goddess, his darling that he knows has trust issues due to Bruce and her past. He will do his best to not make her feel uncomfortable or suspicious of him, especially when it comes to obsessive with her.
Clark is smart enough to not let his obsession show early on, taking the frog in a pot approach with her. Letting her know she is loved by him, but keeping his obsession hidden. She can never know how he has collected every news article of her, every picture and interview.
She can never know how he listens in on her conversations with others and transcribes them in a secret notebook, or how he memorized her way of speaking so that when he dreams of her, his imagination is true to her.
Imagine the dates where Jon, Conner and Kara tag along? Due to ex wife being the only real mother figure he’s known, he is attached to her. It makes Clark’s heart swell and his head foggy. Seeing his little boy with his goddess.
Bruce is not happy, he’s not happy at all. Seeing his ‘friend’ playing house with his wife.
I think Bruce will struggle to not poison Clark with kryptonite. Like, legit Bruce will struggle to not murder Clark for seducing his wife, his perfect and loving wife.
How dare Clark try to make you their mom? How dare he trick her into thinking that Clark is good for her??
Wayne Enterprise starts doing a lot of research when it comes to kryptonite after Bruce hears the news, and he’s public about it too. A warning to the kryptonians that he and his family will fight to get back ex wife.

I’ve gotten a few pregnancy asks (I swear I’m getting to them) and honestly, I think Clark would know before you. If this happens while reader is still married then things are going to get complicated and heated very quickly, especially between Clark and Bruce.
imagine you met clark at one of lex luthor’s galas. The man, Lex, is constantly trying to chat you up, most likely in an attempt to get into Wayne Enterprise and learn its secrets and upcoming research projects. Bruce is doing his ‘Brucie Wayne’ act, with a model on each of his arms feeling him up, and you’re just tired.
You rub the space between your eyebrows, fighting off a migraine that was threatening to strike. You hate how alone you always were at these events. You were the outsider, someone who married into money instead of inheriting it like Bruce or earned it like Lex. Maybe that’s why he always targeted you when it came to these events, maybe he was trying to find someone who was similar to him.
However, you weren’t the one he would find that type of solace in.
No, you were in a room full of people, even with someone talking to you, and you felt so alone still. So cold and tired, until you saw Clark. You and Clark have been friends as long as he and Bruce have been friends, so it was good to see such a familiar face in this crowd.
Plus, you always been fond of Clark, he was warm and inviting, a true friend. Always there to lend you a hand and cheer you up, even though you usually kept your issues with Bruce to yourself.
You didn’t want his or anyone’s pity.
While, unbeknownst to you, Clark has been obsessed with you since Lois died. He feels awful for being so anamored with his best friend’s wife, he knows it’s wrong, but he can’t stay away when you smile at him and speak his name in such a sweet way. He’s able to quiet the little voices of being a bad friend when you places your eyes upon him. His goddess acknowledging him.
He makes his way over to you, smiling and handing you a flute of champagne, “Miss [Name], it’s good to see you tonight.”
Clark hated calling you Mrs. Wayne, he didn’t like acknowledging that you belonged to Bruce – it make his eyes twitch – so instead he would always call you Miss [Name] instead.
You happily take the flute from his hands, your fingers barely grazing against his – he swears you must be a meta human sometimes, the way his body nearly jolts from the electricity of your touch – you thanked him, giving him that sweet smile of yours. He knew you practiced smiling for the public, but he swears that when you smile at him, it’s genuine.
“So, Mr. Kent, any new news pieces I need to know about?”
Between drinks, anger, loneliness and comfort, you ended up sneaking off with Clark, sharing a night with him, hidden from the rest of the party goers, hidden from Bruce’s all watching eyes.

The next time you see Clark is around two months later, at a Wayne Enterprise event. You didn’t want to go originally, due to feeling sick and tired more than usual lately, but you assumed it’s just the season and Gotham’s general atmosphere, so you ignore it and push through.
After all, there’s no reason to give the media reason to gossip, right?
However, the moment you walk in, Clark is staring at you, looking nervous and in awe, as if he has something to say. Something important.
It was strange how he watched you with slightly unfocused eyes, his cheeks and the tips of his ears turning red. He was also much more clumsy than usual.
Strange… he’s probably feeling guilty about having a one night stand with his friend’s wife, and soon to be ex if the divorce papers get done being processed soon.
You needed to pull Clark aside soon, to talk about keeping that night between the two of you a secret, however Bruce, for some strange reason, wouldn’t let you out of his sight that night.
His presence felt suffocating.
It was strange seeing the man you knew didn’t care for you suddenly becoming… observant of you. Previously, he let you be - let you drown under the lights of cameras and the questions of the paparazzi and interviewers - but now? He kept a hand on your hip, as well as kept you by his side, rejecting the usual lovely snake that had hopes at being his arm candy for the night.
You tried to shake off the strange feeling you were getting, you felt like you were under a microscope tonight, it was putting you on edge to tell the truth.
You were finally able to escape Bruce when investors came up to him to talk shop, with one of them asking you to grab them a drink, rude but you took the chance that was given to you.
The first hint that you truly told you what was happening to you and your body was when you went over to the table where they had the drinks, grabbing a flute of the champagne you likes, you brought it to your lips to take a sip, not to expecting Clark to grab your wrist – being careful to not bruise you – to stop you.
“Clark? What’s this-?”
“Please… please do not drink any alcohol tonight.” His eyes were desperate.
His eyes stared into yours, looking truly panicked. He was staring into you, as if searching for answers to a question he wanted to ask.
“Clark? Are you okay?” His behavior truly startled you,
“[Name], please, do not drink any alcohol. Please, I need you to trust me.” His eyes kept looking from your face to your stomach, transfixed.
That was the second hint you noticed, how he kept looking at your stomach. You could also tell he was listening instantly to something as well.
That was all it truly took for you to put the pieces together. You nearly fainted, Clark held your hand as he and Rose – your personal assistant – helped to guide you to a private area so that you could sit down and hopefully speak with Clark.
This could not be happened.
'No… no this cant be happening! You are on the pill - no! You were finally going to be free of being a mom to people who didn’t appreciate you!! You were- how did-’ your thoughts were cut off as Bruce walked in. He and Clark shared a look, a quiet order for Clark to leave with Rose so that he could talk to his wife.
You didn’t like how stern he looked, nor how concerned his eyes were when he would steal glances at you.
Clark hesitated to leave you, but Rose nodded her head and lead him out of the room, she knew not to get in between you and Bruce when you two needed to talk.
Bruce waited until they were gone before turning his attention back to you, his eyes softening, how abnormal of him.
"Are you alright, Fox? Did Clark do something?” 'Something’ alright.
You smile at him, trying to be normal in front of the worlds greatest detective, it usually was easy due to him not having enough time nor energy to actually be invested in your life, “I’m fine Bruce, I’ve just been a little unwell lately. I think Clark’s senses been sensing it too. Hehe, he’s like one of those animals that warn you about medical conditions, its sweet, right?”
He did not look convinced, staring at you with a suspicous intensity, you hated it when he did that.
“Bruce, I’m your wife, not your suspect,” that seemed to have helped him snap out of it, causing him to soften again and sighing. He nodded and took his blazer off, placing it over your shoulders, shocking you with his softness.
“Alright, Fox. How about Miss Rose takes you back to the manor. If your sick, you should go home.”
He took a step away from you, but keeping his eyes on you, he motioned for your personal assistant, Rose, to come and take you back to the manor. Back 'home’.
Meanwhile, in a hallway not to far away, Clark was listening in, his mind in a daze and his cheeks flushed pink. His goddess was pregnant with his child. He had to do his best to suppress the dopey smile on his face, not wanting to give Bruce any more clues than he already has.
He knew the moment your car arrived, he can smell how your hormones are changing, hear and feel how your body is changing to support the life he created with you. He was on cloud nine with this information, finally, finally he will be able to have you to himself. Finally you will be his in a way Bruce has no chance in.
However he would need to prepare, he knew that you already tricked Bruce into signing divorce papers - super hearing has such amazing perks at times - and he knew you already had a house outside of the city you were already moving stuff into. All he had to do now is catching you and protect you from the public eye and from Bruce’s eyes… especially now that he suspects something about you is changing.
Clark really disliked how observant his friend and coworker could be. The way Bruce is looking at you now, with tender eyes and softness. It infuriates him.
But he can handle that, he can handle anything the world threw at him, especially if it meant protecting and providing for his goddess.
He won’t let what happened to Lois happen to you.

I think this just makes Clark lock in on getting ex wife to fall in love with him. He doesn’t want to spook her or give her a reason to not trust him. He hopes that you fall for him willingly, especially now while you’re in this state, but he will do what he feels like he needs to do to protect his family.
He is taking things slow, he’s a patient yandere that doesn’t cut corners –he was taught to never cut corners and bc he knows it can backfire – plus he wants his goddess to love him and rely on him. He wants not just your love but trust. Something Bruce has never truly had.
He also has to think about Jon, especially since he sees ex wife like a motherly figure. He cant have it ruined by him being impatient.
He is waiting for the right time to get you by yourself to talk about options. If you decide to keep it he and you need to strategize on how to tell the others: Ma, Pa, Jon, Conner, Kara. They’ll have to say something soon, it’s hard to keep secrets from people with super hearing after all.
I think Bruce knows something happened between you and Clark, and he’s suspicious of what is going on with you. He watches you more than you both realize, and seeing you so sick with no fever, he knew what happened.
At first he was furious with you and Clark, furious that his wife and friend would do that do him. However, the more he thinks about it the more he realizes, he provocted you, a lot. He knows he hasn’t been the kindest to you, holding resentment towards you for not only taking a massive part of his life due to you blackmailing him into marraige, but also because you ‘pretended’ to be a saint of a wife and step mother. At least he thought you pretended.
He never trusted how you seemed to calm down during the marriage, it was like you were trying to act the part of a wife. You kept tabs and made sure he had nothing on you sure, but the way you seemed to just… settle into his life, finding a place to perch and stay. It made him paranoid.
When He suspects that you are pregnant, he cant help but treat you softly and tenderly though. Something about you being pregnant just makes him… boneless.
You’re glowing. You look almost angelic, its doing something to him he never expected.
His mind starts to drift to what ifs, especially what if he was the one who got you pregnant, what if you were carrying his child that you both made together… would they have your eyes and his nose? would they love him or you more? these thoughts constantly sent shivers down his spine. He also found himself touching your torso more, wanting to feel you more as the pregnancy progressed.
Imagine his shock though when he finds out you secretly divorced him? Haha.. its cute how you think you and the baby can just leave. He will be watching, and if he has to, he will guide your back to him.

This is so so funny actually because for MOST of television's history, this was the standard. When I started learning screenwriting 25 years ago (OH GOD), it was still taught that you should be able to follow the plot of a television show while cooking dinner. Which didn't mean the characters described everything they were doing; it meant the writing tended to be more driven by dialogue than action and visuals.
Film, which started out a silent art form, drew its storytelling language from stage performance--plays, obviously, but also dance, opera, mime and circus. Early television drew its storytelling language from radio, and up until 20-25 years ago, the idea that a television show should require your full visual attention to be comprehensible wasn't the norm--in fact it was something you were actively discouraged from doing when learning to write for TV. When the Buffy episode "Hush" aired in 1999, they put a special notice after each commercial break to reassure you that your television wasn't broken--most of the episode just didn't have audible dialogue. It was considered groundbreaking enough that it was nominated for an Emmy.
What happened about 25 years ago is that the storytelling languages of film and television started converging, and TV, which plenty of people in the feature film world had looked down on, started being treated as serious medium for visual storytelling. Budgets increased, allowing more "cinematic" visuals to be possible; writers, directors and actors from the film world crossed over more often and the era of "Peak" or "Prestige" TV took off. Changes (not all of them positive) in both the feature film and television worlds meant that the gap between what you could do in a high-budget TV show and what you could do in a feature film basically vanished. At the same time, the home viewing experience got dramatically better, and over time, the expectation of television being a full-attention audio-visual experience all the time became the norm. (The thing that's filled the gap of "absorbing a story while cooking/cleaning/doing another activity"? Podcasts. AKA the medium formerly known as radio.)
Now as someone who loves immersive, visually-driven, full-attention-requiring television...I think any story should be told using whatever dramatic language is best suited to it. I don't have an ideological opposition to the concept of TV that doesn't require your full attention and I don't think that's "TV for stupid people" or "TV for people who hate TV." The question should be whether this particular story should be told in that manner or not.
I just think it's funny that today's studio and networks execs have really never had a single original idea in their lives.
Trad Husbands
Traditional Husbands also have a huge part to play in a traditional marriage, although it’s not acknowledged by many of traditional individuals. So here’s a small list of the traditional husbands duties :
- Make your wife feel protected, whether she’s with you or not.
- Do the heavy lifting and fixing jobs around the house for your wife.
- Always greet your wife with a kiss
- Set an example to your daughter/s what a boyfriend should be like, and your sons how they should treat women.
- Always bring gifts back from long work trips to show your loyalty and appreciation.
- Make sure to remind your wife that you love her by taking her on dates, saying “i love you” frequently and holding her when she needs it.
- Cater to her emotional and physical needs, like she does for you.
- Give her days or time off, especially during pregnancy, birthdays and holidays in general.
- This relationship is a balance, she looks good for you so make sure you’re hygienic and groomed for her.
- Assure her consistently that she and her kids are completely provided for and protected as long as you live.
- Support her in everything she does.
- Women are a lot more emotional then their male counterparts so approach arguments and conflicts with caution and care.
- Make sure you understand her boundaries and what she considers wrong etc, otherwise you’ll run into many arguments ( and obviously abide by these boundaries ).
- Never talk badly to others about your wife. Even to your own parents and children.
This list isn’t all the duties of a traditional working husband, just a small guide. Although men and women aren’t equals, within a relationship it’s a balance. We have to work toward that balance by showing we have equal yet opposing duties.
